Americans are struggling with the cost of getting around and the health effects of transportation pollution. Clean cars are an important part of the solution, but some in Congress are trying to pass a new tax on electric and hybrid vehicles that could effectively destroy the clean cars industry while raising prices for American families.

If they succeed, it could raise costs for families, destroy EV manufacturing jobs, and increase climate pollution by up to 97 million metric tons. That’s the equivalent of adding 23 million gas-powered cars to the road for a year.
