The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)'s clean energy tax credits are wildly popular, and it's easy to see why: they help working families save money, make transportation safer and healthier, and create good-paying jobs.
Yet, Republicans in Congress are barreling forward with a budget bill that could permanently axe these credits, along with dozens of programs that make energy affordable for households, reduce toxic pollution, combat the climate crisis, provide life-changing healthcare, and nourish families with food assistance.
If Congress repeals IRA clean energy investments, Pennsylvania families could see their household energy bills go up by nearly $60 a year by 2030 and $80 a year by 2035. And we could see 26,400 Pennsylvania jobs go away by 2030.
