It's now official and in writing—Republicans in Congress are coming after life-saving programs, including Medicaid, as well as climate and clean energy programs.
In the actual bill text they just released, House Republicans propose an aggressive repeal of many programs underpinning the largest climate bill in U.S. history. They're taking billions of dollars in climate funding away from households, workers, disadvantaged communities, businesses, Tribal governments, cities, and more.
This is a corrupt assault on our future. They want to give corporations a free pass to raise energy prices and spew deadly pollution that will accelerate the climate crisis and worsen health problems. All so they can afford unconscionable tax breaks for billionaires.
Congressional Republicans think that enough people will let this slide that they can push this through without massive public outcry.
Let's show them we won't stand for it.
