With total disregard for their own rules, Republicans are barreling forward with multiple Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolutions that would increase deadly air pollution by gutting states’ ability to set their own vehicle emissions standards.
State standards that are stronger than the federal government’s effectively accelerate vehicle electrification, reduce harmful smog from heavy-duty vehicles, and save drivers money at the pump. They are one of the most effective tools for states to reduce deadly transportation pollution, but Republicans are choosing to ignore these facts and put the profits of oil companies over the health of American families.
A vote could happen on these resolutions any day now, and we must call on our Senators to stop them.
