Tell Congress:
You Must Prioritize Climate Defense

After a closely fought election, the billions spent by corrupt fossil companies and anti-democracy oligarchs have put Donald Trump over the top. All the incredible progress we've made on climate is at risk, but the outlook isn't hopeless.

It's true that President-elect Trump called climate change a hoax, told oil companies he’ll do their bidding, and promised to undo all of the historic progress made under the Biden-Harris administration.

But Democrats in Congress have the power to defend the progress we've made.

We must stand together and fight like hell so that our leaders hear loud and clear: We're not going back. Sign the petition urging Congress to defend our climate and our future by protecting our hard-won progress.

Dear President-elect Trump, Majority Leader Scalise, and Minority Leader Jeffries,

I am deeply concerned about attacks on our climate, clean air, and water. We must stop any efforts to repeal clean energy investments or to roll back the progress we've made reducing pollution and cleaning up our air and water.

Every day, communities across the U.S., including my own, are experiencing the devastating impacts of extreme weather, fueled by the climate crisis.

That's why we stand firmly behind the historic climate progress that has been achieved over the past several years, from cutting dangerous health-harming pollution to accelerating the country's transition to clean energy, all while boosting the economy, creating jobs, and investing in local communities.

But this climate progress is now under attack.

Undoing these popular climate policies will compromise the health and safety of our communities, hurt the economy, increase the intensity and frequency of extreme weather events, and jeopardize our nation’s ability to achieve our climate goals.

The human, financial, and infrastructure costs of extreme weather events are a painful reminder of the urgent work that still needs to be done to tackle the climate crisis—and we cannot reverse course now. We refuse to let polluters and their allies define our futures:

We remain steadfast in defense of our climate. We oppose any attacks on the progress that has been made. And we will continue to fight for forward-looking climate policies.
